I just started training for a triathlon and have been swimming laps at a pool in town for a couple of weeks now. I wanted to learn how to do the flip turns so I asked a guy who I know used to swim at the college level. He is there quite a bit because he helps teach swim lessons. As he was showing me how to practice these new turns, it was easy to see a large cross tattoo design that extended from one shoulder blade to the other. It looked to be a sort of celtic design, but I didn’t get to see it up close. I will have to ask him about its meaning next time I see him.
