Pedestrian killed by drunk driver shortly after watching display of wireworks
This reported pedestrian accident a mother of two was killed by a drunk hit-and-run driver. The female pedestrian was returning for watching a display of fireworks with friends when she was hit. The force of the impact caused bone fractures in her arms and legs and a head injury that resulted in her death. The accident occurred shortly after midnight on a Sunday. Witnesses reported a general description of the vehicle and the direction in which it left the scene of the accident. The police were able to track down the vehicle and made an arrest within 20 minutes of the accident. The vehicle still had damage to the windshield and right tire as well as traces of blood. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim.
