Can I get a good workout at home?

It’s getting close to New Year’s and with that of course comes time for New Year’s resolutions. Right up there with quitting smoking and losing weight, is getting more exercise. Gym membership traditionally increase quite a bit during the first few week’s in January, but if your goal is to work out more, you don’t necessarily have to join a gym.

Yes, you can get a good workout at home - right in your living room or back yard and you don’t even have to buy a lot of expensive equipment.  A simple rope can become your best cardio workout tool - just jump it for 15 to 20 minutes a day. You can also walk in place while you watch TV or do some jumping jacks. 

Canned goods or water bottles become free weights for your weight lifting training and there are all kinds of strenghtening exercises you can do on the floor or using chairs etc. With a few adjustments you can recreate almost any workout you usually do in the gym right at home.
