Herbal Prostate Treatment Not What Expected
PC-SPECS was a well-known treatment for prostate cancer, but was soon taken off the market when doctors discovered the main cause for it’s miracle cure were unhealthy amounts of warfarin, indomethacin, and estrogen. The drug lowered the production of testosterone in the body, which, in turn, would halt the growth of tumors. However, due to serious side effects such as blood clots in the legs and lungs, and the fact the manufacturer only listed the ingredients to be saw palmetto, Chinese herbs, and ginseng, the drug has been taken off the market. This type of occurrence only supports the notion that you never know what you’re getting with herbal supplements.
