Learning the Scriptures

The mormon religion has no paid pastors or preachers. I would say that in a way, all of its members are pastors as we are given opportunities to give talks, we hold callings, and we are given every opportunity and encouragement to study and know the scriptures rather than relying on someone else to tell us what they mean. We believe in personal revelation that might come to us as we study the Word of God. This should be done both personally and as families. As teenagers, we attend seminary for four years, which is an hour long class. A year is devoted to the Old Testament, a year to the New Testament, then one for The Book of Mormon, and another for The Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and church history. Joining the mormon religion is definitely a commitment and a worthwhile one.
