Mormon Doctrine Teaches Children Pure, No Need Baptism Until Eight Years Of Age
Many religions teach that children when born are intrinsically evil. The mormon doctrine on this subject is that babies are born sin free into this world, and that they are under the protection of Jesus Christ’s Atonement, and that they do not begin to become accountable before the Lord, nor capable of committing sin until after they turn eight years of age. That is when they are then baptized, and put under the covenant to obey all of God’s commandments. Babies are pure and precious, and they are beings who come down to the Earth with total trust and confidence that they will be cared for.
