The Importance of Careful Background Checks
Recently our local newspaper ran a story about a daycare center employee who had been fired after a parent complained about his behavior.
The matter was investigated by the State, which did a background check. They found the employee had arrest records and a history of being fired from previous jobs.
That daycare center has been closed, but the incident scared many parents who trusted the care givers.
Further investigation showed the same problem in other facilities.
The one good thing which came out of this is that the importance of background checks is being emphasized, and especially for caregivers.
